Herb of the Month: Cinnamon
Botanical Name: Cinnamomum verum.
Folklore: The Roman emperor Nero burned a years supply of cinnamon on his wife's funeral pyre. In Christian churches aromatic candles were made using the fat from cinnamon seeds. In African folk magic cinnamon is used for purification, luck, love, and to gain money.
Medicinal uses: Antibacterial, glucose stabilizer, aphrodisiac.
Culinary uses: Use to season sweet dishes, and drinks, add ½ a teaspoon to your meal twice a day to regulate glucose levels.
Magical properties: Purification, luck, love, money, sex, sleep.
